GEORGETOWN, Ind. (AP) - Police say a man survived a car crash on Interstate 64 in southern Indiana but was killed when he then walked out into the roadway and was hit by another vehicle.

Floyd County police say the car driven by 20-year-old Joseph Fischer of New Albany went off the highway Tuesday night. Fischer walked away from that crash and for unknown reasons went into the travel lanes of I-64 about 10 miles northwest of Louisville, Ky.

Police say he was then fatally struck by a car.

That driver stopped immediately after the collision, and police say no charges are expected to be filed against the motorist.
