OBERLIN, La. (AP) - Allen Parish teachers, support workers and other employees will receive salary supplements next month totaling $576,070.
The American Press reports (https://bit.ly/1eOXZNb ) the school board unanimously approved separate measures Monday to use $229,196 in state funds and $346,874 from surplus sales tax revenues to fund supplements for the system’s 678 employees.
Classroom teachers will receive $535 from state funds and $215 from sales taxes for a net total of $750. Degreed professional employees - including librarians - will receive $750. All other employees, including support workers, will receive $500. School Board members will not receive the supplement pay. The salary supplements will be employees’ checks in April.
