Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to respond to the White House’s imposing sanctions on Russian officials by releasing his own sanctions list of U.S. officials that will reportedly include U.S. Sens. Richard J. Durbin, Illinois Democrat, and John McCain, Arizona Republican.

Mr. Putin is planning to release the list as early as Tuesday, The Daily Beast reported.

Mr. McCain told the outlet he would be “honored” to be on the list.

“I guess I’m going to have to try to withdraw my money from my secret account in St. Petersburg,” he joked.

Mr. Durbin, meanwhile, said that “my Lithuanian-born mother would be proud her son made Vladimir Putin’s American enemies list.”

The Daily Beast reported that White House press secretary Jay Carney, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, are not expected to be on the list.
