The Rolling Stones have postponed their Wednesday concert in Australia after Mick Jagger’s girlfriend and fashion designer L’Wren Scott was found hanged Monday in an apparent suicide.
Mr. Jagger and his daughter Georgia may be headed to New York City to mourn Miss Scott’s death, the New York Daily News reported.
The 49-year-old designer was nearly $6 million in debt before she apparently hanged herself with a scarf in her Manhattan apartment early Monday. She had been dating Jagger for 13 years.
A spokesman for Mr. Jagger said the singer was “completely shocked and devastated” with the news.
Frontier Touring and Concerts West didn’t comment on whether all of the Rolling Stones’ appearances in Australia and New Zealand would be rescheduled, the Daily News said.
Miss Jagger also canceled a fashion appearance in Australia.
“In light of the recent sad news, Georgia May Jagger will not be participating in Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival for the CAMILLA Grand Showcase,” a Camilla spokesman said, the Herald Sun reported.
A fashion source close to Miss Scott told the New York Post that he or she “knew something was wrong” when the designer canceled her London Fashion Week show at the last minute.
“That would have been so important to her. She was very prolific on Instagram and recently had gone quiet and hadn’t been posting so much,” the source said.
There was no suicide note where Miss Scott’s body was found and police say they do not suspect foul play.
