WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Purdue University is inviting graduates who’ve been astronauts on NASA missions to return a campus reunion and a public forum next month.

Among those invited to the events are Eugene Cernan, the last of the 12 men to walk on the moon, and Jerry Ross, the first person to launch into space seven times. Purdue has had 23 graduates become astronauts, including the late Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon.

The events will include eight of the astronauts taking part in an April 12 forum called “A Conversation with Our Astronauts.” The astronauts also will be introduced at halftime of the spring football scrimmage. The astronauts will be at the West Lafayette campus April 10 and 11, meeting with students and faculty.
