BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - The Montana State Billings women’s basketball team is looking to advance to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division II tournament for the first time since 1999.
The second-seeded Yellowjackets take on top-seed Cal Poly Pomona Monday night in the championship game of the West Regional tournament being played in Pomona, Calif.
MSU Billings advanced to the title game with a 60-59 win over Academy of Art on Friday and a 76-68 win over Simon Fraser on Saturday, avenging a loss to the Clan in the championship game of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference tournament.
Cal Poly Pomona posted wins over Alaska Anchorage and Chico State.
The regional championship game tips off at 7 p.m. Pacific.
