HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A funeral is Tuesday for a man found dead at Selfridge Air National Guard Base who police say apparently became disoriented in the cold and succumbed to the elements.

The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press report the body of 22-year-old Scott Nacy was found Thursday outside a building on the west side of the base in Macomb County’s Harrison Township. Authorities said he was from Fair Haven in St. Clair County.

His funeral is at Gendernalik Funeral Home in New Baltimore.

Nacy’s family says he was last seen going outside to smoke at a Mount Clemens strip club.

Police say he jumped a fence at the base and tried unsuccessfully to enter a building and vehicles to get out of the cold. The military stepped up security afterward.
