PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Eagles and safety Nate Allen have agreed on a one-year contract.
Allen has started 54 games in four seasons with the Eagles. Allen had a career-high 94 tackles and started every game last season. The former second-round pick has six interceptions, three sacks and one forced fumble in his four-year career.
The Eagles have already made several moves in free agency to bolster a secondary that finished last in the NFL in pass defense. They signed former Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins, former Seahawks safety and special teams standout Chris Maragos, and former Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll.
Allen has played under four defensive coordinators in four seasons with the team.
