NEW YORK (AP) - Bill de Blasio is getting set to make his debut at New York City’s annual political roast.
The Inner Circle is a group of political reporters founded in 1922. It hosts a charity black-tie dinner and show to poke fun at the year in politics.
The reporters put on a two-act show. It’s followed by the mayor’s performance, which often features a Broadway cast.
De Blasio is known for cracking jokes in public appearances, to varying degrees of success.
His administration released a video Monday that shows him training with the actor Steve Buscemi (boo-SEH’-mee), a longtime supporter, to get ready for Saturday’s show.
Previous shows have featured Rudolph Giuliani sporting drag and Michael Bloomberg dressed as both a hippie and as Spiderman.
