INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indianapolis Colts say many fans have contacted the team to express concerns about the arrest of owner Jim Irsay on preliminary charges of intoxicated driving.
The team released a brief statement Monday saying it is still gathering information about Irsay’s Sunday night arrest in Carmel but appreciated the support of fans.
Carmel police say officers found multiple prescription drugs inside Irsay’s vehicle after he was spotted driving slowly, coming to a stop in the roadway and failing to use a turn signal.
He was jailed on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance.
An NFL spokesman says Irsay is subject to discipline.
