SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - No. 5 Cincinnati opens NCAA tournament play in the East Region against No. 12 Harvard, which will make its third straight trip to the tournament after winning the Ivy League.

The defensive-minded Bearcats (27-6) tied for the American Athletic Conference regular-season title with Louisville and had a 15-game winning streak earlier in the season. Coach Mick Cronin’s bunch has been a bit more inconsistent over the past month, with a 5-4 record since Feb. 8.

Harvard (26-4) was the first team to clinch a berth to the NCAA tournament by winning the Ivy League’s regular season title. The league does not have a conference tournament.

The Crimson comes into the NCAA tournament on an eight-game winning streak. Junior Wesley Saunders leads Harvard with 14 points per game.
