NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (AP) - Officials say a repair and repaving project will force closure of a portion of U.S. Highway 75 in southeast Nebraska.

The Nebraska Roads Department says a 12-mile stretch between Union and Nebraska City will be closed beginning March 31. The highway is expected to remain closed until mid-September. Access for local residents will be maintained on county roads.

A marked detour will use U.S. Highway 34 and Nebraska highways 2 and 50.

The project will include bridge repairs, grading, drain work and repaving.
