FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots have announced the signing of suspended former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner.
The statement comes one day after Browner said on his Twitter account that he has agreed to a contract with the Patriots. Neither has released details of the deal.
Browner would join Darrelle Revis in a revamped secondary after cornerback Aqib Talib left for a reported six-year, $57 million contract with the Denver Broncos. John Geiger, Revis’ business manager, has said on Twitter that the three-time All-Pro would be joining the Patriots.
Browner was suspended in December for violating the league’s substance abuse policy and must miss the first four games of the 2014 regular season. He will be allowed to attend training camp and play in exhibition games.
