ALPHARETTA, Ga. (AP) - Police in Atlanta’s northern suburbs are searching for an armed man suspected of robbing an Alpharetta convenience store.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://bit.ly/1fZ6vNL) that the suspect escaped into a wooded area and was leading deputies on a foot chase in nearby Forsyth County early Saturday morning.

Authorities say the suspect had driven to a residence, ran out the back door and then fled into the wooded area.

Alpharetta police said he appeared to be armed with an AR-15 rifle or similar weapon.

Authorities said another man suspected of being involved in the robbery was apprehended as he hid in the vehicle at the residence.
