BATH, Maine (AP) - Maine Congresswoman Chellie Pingree says Bath Iron Works has won a $643 million Navy contract to build another destroyer.

BIW had been awarded a contract to build four Arleigh Burke class destroyers, with an option for a fifth.

Pingree said Friday that some of the funding for the final ship had been question due to budget cuts but that recent spending bills have closed the gap.

BIW built the first Arleigh Burke guided missile destroyer in the late 1980s.
