HELENA, Mont. (AP) - State revenue officials say property tax relief is available for people whose homes were damaged or destroyed by flooding.
The Department of Revenue said in a statement Friday that property owners with structures harmed by a natural disaster or businesses that lost equipment may qualify.
Warmer weather and high winds following a February’s high snowfall has led to avalanches, ice jams and overflowing waterways in parts of Montana this month.
The state’s natural disaster property flood relief covers damage by floods, avalanche, wind or other natural events.
Property owners must apply by the Dec. 31 for relief available this tax year.
