An aide to abortion provider Kermit Gosnell — the one who testified last year that she heard one of her partially aborted babies cry during a botched procedure — was sentenced to five to 10 years behind bars.

Sherry West was sentenced Thursday on charges that stemmed from the 2009 overdose death of a patient who came to the now-famous Philadelphia clinic for an abortion, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

She had previously pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and agreed to testify against her former boss, Gosnell, who’s now serving three consecutive life terms for killing babies who were born alive, the paper said.

West, who later changed her guilty plea to not guilty and refused to testify against her former boss, was one of nine former Gosnell Women’s Medical Society Clinic aides who were brought up on charges related to murder and to performing illegal operations. All have pleaded guilty; two are still due to be sentenced.

West provided shocking testimony in the mid-2013 hearing of Gosnell about an abortion that “really freaked [her] out” when a baby who was supposed to have been aborted, actually came out alive — and screaming, LifeNews.com reported.
