NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A northern New Jersey man has been sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty to making a threatening phone call to Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.

A spokesman for New Jersey’s U.S. attorney’s office says Ronnie McMillian Jr. was sentenced on Wednesday in federal court in Newark.

A federal judge ordered that McMillian spend six months of his sentence in home incarceration.

The 29-year-old Hawthorne, N.J., resident admitted making the call to Jindal two years ago and leaving a voicemail saying Jindal and other Republicans would “get a bullet in your head.”

At the time of his arrest, prosecutors said McMillian regularly called the offices of public officials, including several members of Congress, and used vulgar language to attack the official’s position on gay rights.
