Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leads New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in early 2016 predictions in Iowa, said a poll released Thursday.
Mr. Christie was ahead of Mrs. Clinton by 5 points in a December poll, but the former first lady now leads the scandal-plagued governor 48-35, the Quinnipiac University poll found.
Mrs. Clinton is also significantly ahead of other GOP 2016 hopefuls, including Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ted Cruz of Texas, and Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
More than half of Iowa voters say Mrs. Clinton would make a good president, while just 41 percent say the same about Mr. Christie.
The poll surveyed more than 1,000 registered voters by telephone between March 5-10. The margin of error is 2.6 percent.
