DUMFRIES, Va. (AP) — Authorities have charged a Prince William County man with illegally dealing prescription drugs outside a daycare center owned by the man’s wife.

Thirty-eight-year-old Ralph Caldwell made an initial appearance Wednesday in federal court in Alexandria on a charge of conspiring to sell oxycodone.

In an FBI affidavit, an informant alleges Caldwell sometimes dealt drugs inside the Little Angel’s DayCare center in Dumfries, and the affidavit says he was seen selling to the informant in an alley behind the center. The informant also alleged that Caldwell drank pineapple soda laced with codeine while driving the daycare center’s van and kept a gun at the center.

A call to the daycare was not returned Wednesday, and court records do not list an attorney for him. The FBI searched the center on Wednesday.
