KONTIOLAHTI, Finland (AP) - Johannes Thingnes Boe shot clean and won his third career biathlon World Cup in the 10-kilometer sprint on Thursday.

Boe won in 23 minutes, 33.2 seconds, followed 7.1 seconds later by Martin Fourcade of France, who also shot clean. Fourcade was only 0.1 seconds ahead of Arnd Peiffer of Germany.

No wind in the spring-like temperatures meant a spot on the podium involved clean shooting, and all but Peiffer had clean shots in the men’s top 10.

Finland’s Kaisa Makarainen won the women’s event with one penalty in 20:36.3. Behind her came Russia’s Olga Zaitseva, 6.1 seconds back, then Makarainen’s teammate Mari Laukkanen, who shot clean and earned her first career podium.
