EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Leslie Robinson scored 14 points and had 14 rebounds and Corvallis defeated West Albany 46-23 Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the OSAA Class 5A girls tournament.
Second-seeded Corvallis (22-4) advances to a semifinal game Friday against Hermison, which defeated Sherwood 46-24.
Earlier in the day defending champion Willamette defeated Wilson 50-18 and Lebanon beat Bend 56-42 to set up the other semifinal at Matthew Knight Arena.
Robinson is the daughter of Oregon State men’s basketball coach Craig Robinson, the brother of First Lady Michelle Obama. She has averaged 21 points this season for the second-seeded Spartans.
Corey James led No. 10 seed West Albany (15-13) with nine points.
Shelby Sanders had 14 points and eight rebounds, while McKenzie Byrd added 12 points and eight more rebounds for third-seeded Hermison (20-5), which is making its fifth straight tournament appearance.
Mallory Shields had 13 points for No. 11 seed Sherwood (18-9), which upset Marist 39-42 in overtime to earn a trip to the tournament.
Lexi Bando, who has committed to Gonzaga, had 18 points for top-seeded Willamette (24-1), which extended its winning streak to 21 games with the victory. The Wolverines’ lone loss came to Class 6A South Medford in December.
Ninth-seeded Wilson (20-6) was making its first tournament appearance since 2003. Ellen Berkley was the Trojans’ top scorer with six points.
Jenna Morch scored 20 points and grabbed four rebounds for fourth-seeded Lebanon (21-5), which won its 13th consecutive game.
The loss snapped a 16-game winning streak for fifth-seeded Bend (21-5), which was led by Kendall Kramer with 13 points.
Ellie Phillips hit three of Lebanon’s seven 3-pointers. Morch hit consecutive 3s to close out the first half for a 27-22 lead.
Earlier this season, Willamette beat Lebanon 72-37.
