LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The Michigan Supreme Court is looking for high school students or new graduates who want to learn about law.
The court’s Learning Center will offer a five-day “moot court” program in July in which students will prepare and argue a case. The topic is whether police can search a wireless phone without a warrant if someone is under arrest.
Students will work with lawyers and other legal professionals, including Supreme Court justices, in Lansing. It’s open to 22 students who are graduating in June or entering 10th through 12th grade in the fall.
The dates are July 21-25. The cost is $75. An application is available online at https://courts.mi.gov .
