Ohio AG DeWine says vertigo has hit before

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio’s attorney general says he has had other bouts of vertigo before the one that led to his hospitalization.

Mike DeWine is back on the job this week, and he told WBNS-TV (https://bit.ly/1fTxIl1 ) in Columbus that he doesn’t expect it to affect his re-election campaign this year. He was hospitalized overnight last Friday in Cincinnati after an onset of vertigo prevented him from delivering a luncheon speech.

The 67-year-old longtime Ohio public figure says he has had it several times. Vertigo causes a dizzy feeling that your surroundings are spinning. Vertigo usually isn’t considered a serious medical problem.

DeWine says his doctor thinks his bouts are related to migraine headaches. He says the vertigo comes on quickly, and usually lasts only a few hours.
