NEW YORK (AP) - Officials say Mount Sinai Hospital has been treating 22 patients from the East Harlem explosion.
Mount Sinai’s director of emergency management, Dr. Kevin Chason (CHAY’-suhn) says one of the patients was in critical but stable condition Wednesday with a head injury. He says that patient, a woman, was found in the rubble.
But most of the patients’ injuries are minor, including cuts, scrapes and smoke inhalation.
Chason says about half of the patients walked into the hospital on their own. The others were brought by ambulance.
Three of the patients treated there are children with minor injuries.
Chason says another patient was seen at Mount Sinai-St Luke’s Hospital.
