SEATTLE (AP) - A King County sheriff’s spokeswoman says a man whose body was found last week in a suburban Woodinville, Wash., recycling center appears to have died accidentally, likely crushed inside a recycling truck.

Sgt. Cindi West said Tuesday that the King County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 65-year-old William Burns. She says Burns was a homeless man with a history of sleeping in recycling bins.

The medical examiner determined the man died due to crushing or blunt force. Detectives think he may have been sleeping in a bin when the bin was picked up by a recycling truck.

An employee at Cascade Recycle Center found the body last Friday in a pile of recycled materials.
