SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - New government figures show enrollment in health care plans on the federal website increased in Utah again last month, but remains behind a target set last year by the Obama administration.

Numbers released Tuesday show about 39,900 people signed up for plans in Utah from Oct. 1 to March 1, an increase of almost 36 percent from the end of January.

The updated number of total enrollees in Utah is about 12 percent less than the target set by the Obama administration. The goal was to have 45,600 state residents enrolled by the end of February.

The target for end of March is 57,000.

Enrollment has gradually picked up since the online marketplace was plagued by glitches when it launched last fall, preventing many from enrolling early on.
