ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is recruiting veterans.
The department says it plans to participate in a string of job fairs around the state this month and hopes to attract veterans seeking work.
Department officials say the skills veterans get through their deployments, including discipline and leadership, transfer well to work with young offenders.
The department has openings for administrative roles, corrections and transportation officers, security emergency response teams, probation and parole specialists, nurses, doctors, social workers teachers and more.
The department will participate in job fairs at: Albany State University on Thursday; Fort Gordon on March 20; Clayton State University on March 20; Kennesaw State University on March 25; and the Springfield career fair in Conyers on March 27.
