AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Several state agencies will be looking to hire veterans during a job fair at the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Augusta.

The Georgia Department of Corrections and the Georgia National Guard are hosting their Military Career fair March 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Department of Corrections officials say they’re expecting the Georgia Department of Defense, the Department of Juvenile Justice, the State Department of Labor and more to be on hand offering jobs to military personnel returning from active duty.

Commissioner Brian Owens says the job fair is meant to connect employers with veterans, who offer the agencies a talented and capable workforce to draw from.

Potential applicants are asked to check the department’s website for an updated list of agencies looking to fill positions.
