LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Police in Little Rock say retired U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge James Mixon has been found dead in his home.
Little Rock police spokesman Sidney Allen says the 72-year-old Mixon was found unresponsive by his wife shortly before 5 a.m. Monday. According to a police report, an ambulance was called but Mixon could not be revived.
A cause of death was not released. Mixon’s wife told police her husband had been suffering respiratory problems.
The William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock says Mixon was appointed to the court in 1984 and served as chief judge from 1993 until 2002.
Mixon retired in 2006, but had been serving on recall status and taught at the Bowen School of Law.
