JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Democratic Missouri House member is undergoing tests after being taken to a Jefferson City hospital.

House Minority Leader Jake Hummel says Rep. Rory Ellinger, of University City, felt sick Monday afternoon and was taken to the hospital.

Ellinger is a 72-year-old attorney. He dropped a planned re-election bid earlier this month, citing health reasons.

Ellinger was first elected to the House in 2010. He is a former University City School Board member and previously served as the general counsel for the Missouri Public Service Commission.
