A Michigan man was arrested Friday after posting a Facebook photo of himself holding a submachine gun he allegedly used to rob a bank last week.

Jules Bahler, 21, walked into a Chemical Bank branch in Bay City on March 5 and “displayed what appeared to be a black sub machine gun and demanded money,” according to an affidavit sworn by FBI agent Sean Callaghan, the Smoking Gun reported.

He fled the bank after pocketing $7,000. Mr. Bahler also robbed two Pontiac banks in the week before, netting a combined $8,300, authorities said.

The Facebook photo, posted by the suspect under the name King Romeo the day of the Chemical Bank robbery, was captioned: “Bought my first house And chopper today..lifes great.”

Investigators found the gun in a duffel bag at Mr. Bahler’s feet when they pulled him over during a traffic stop. He waived his Miranda rights and reportedly confessed to all three robberies.

Mr. Bahler was charged with bank robbery and carrying a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, the Smoking Gun reported.
