LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Police have arrested a 26-year-old Lincoln man on suspicion of abusing his infant daughter.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (https://bit.ly/1eLOfB8) that the man was arrested Thursday.

The arrest came after the man took the 5-month-old girl to the doctor for a cough, and an X-ray revealed she had five broken ribs.

Police say the man at first had no explanation for the injuries, but later said he had dropped the baby several weeks earlier.

In November, the baby was taken to a Lincoln hospital with a broken collar bone.

Doctors say the injuries were a result of abuse.
