White House counselor John Podesta indicated Friday that Hillary Rodham Clinton would make an effective president, saying the former first lady would bring a “determined” attitude to the Oval Office.

Asked to use three adjectives to describe Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Podesta described her as “disciplined, tough, determined.”

Mr. Podesta — who served as chief of staff to Mrs. Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton — also said he’s excited to read Mrs. Clinton’s new book, “Hard Choices.”

“I’m anxious to read it,” he said. “I’m sure it’ll be interesting for the public to see what it’s like to have to take on these tough problems she took on quite successfully.”
