A Washington high school is under fire for an awards ceremony that left one mother in tears over what she described as the shocking behavior of on-stage personalities who slung around profanity, told inappropriate jokes — and even doled out sex toys to a couple of students who were commended for their sexual prowess.

“I sat there with my mouth open in shock and the final straw was when a joke was told on stage about a teacher, a lawyer and a priest on a plane,” that included a reference to sex with children, the parent — who did not identify herself — wrote in a complaint letter to the local KOMO-TV.

The parent said she was attending the Bellingham High School event hosted by the school’s drama teacher, Teri Grimes, with her 17-year-old daughter, The Blaze reported.

Among the shocking occurrences she described was the distribution of a box of sex toys for the declared “horniest stud” and the “horniest girl,” the parent wrote, KOMO reported.

The mother reportedly left the ceremony early in tears.

“WE need to get the word out there that THIS is the kind of TRASH that is being taught in our schools,” the parent said, in her email, The Blaze reported. “I am so shocked right now I am in tears.”

The teacher in charge of the ceremony, Ms. Grimes, sent out an apology.

“I deeply apologize for some very inappropriate comments and actions made during our drama students’ end-of-the-year awards ceremony,” she said in a written statement, The Blaze reported. “This is not representative of our students who take such great pride in their school and respect one another. Much of the evening was a great celebration of their work. However, as a teacher and the [drama] club’s leader, I take full responsibility and am extremely sorry.”
