Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is pushing for a new Second Amendment curb that would limit the number of guns a buyer could make each month to one.
Mr. Emanuel’s logic comes from “researchers [who] have found a statistically significant correlation between guns used to commit crimes and guns purchased in bulk,” the Chicago Tribune reported.
For example, a 2007 study from the University of Pennsylvania claimed that 25 percent of “all guns used in crime were purchased as part of a multiple gun sale,” Breitbart reported.
Mr. Emanuel has been on an anti-gun rant for a while.
Just recently, he tried to ban what he claimed would be “99.5 percent” of all gun stores from locating and operating within Chicago city limits. He also tried to press for a law that those gun stores that were allowed to open shop in Chicago would have to videotape each and every transaction and “to submit a safety plan outlining exterior lighting, surveillance camera and alarm systems, as well as storage of guns and ammunition,” his proposal stated, Breitbart reported.
On top of that, Mr. Emanuel has pushed for each and every employee at a gun shop “undergo fingerprinting, background checks and training on identifying potential gun traffickers,” Breitbart reported.
