The 22-year-old son of convicted abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell was shot early Wednesday during an attempted home invasion in a West Philadelphia neighborhood, police said.

Barron Alexander, who changed his last name after his father’s sentencing, broke into a home through the bathroom window and fought with one of the tenants, a local CBS affiliate reported.

Another tenant appeared with a gun and fired at Mr. Alexander, who fled the home located just four blocks away his father’s old abortion clinic.

The suspect collapsed on the ground outside and was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with two gunshot wounds. He was listed in stable condition, CBS reported.

Gosnell is currently serving multiple life sentences for murdering three infants who were born alive during abortion procedures at his clinic.
