New Jersey law enforcement officers working an eight-week sting operation wrapped up with the seizure of almost 12,000 bags of packaged heroin and the arrest of 325.
NBC New York reported that investigators from across the country participated in the operation, which targeted known heroin markets in Paterson, Bergen County prosecutors said.
The arrests included 40-plus suspected dealers and 280 suspected users. Police also confiscated 32 guns, $25,000 in cash and another separate stash of raw heroin weighing in at two-and-a-half pounds, NBC New York reported.
All those arrested were booked on low-level charges that allow them to seek rehabilitation, prosecutors said.
