OPINION:
Five of the most vicious, top-tier terrorists that were being held by the United States were freed by the Obama administration in exchange for an American soldier (“Bowe Bergdahl, bad bargain,” Web, June 2). The Obama administration has said that it did not negotiate with the Taliban. They are right. They did worse — they acquiesced to the Taliban’s demand for these particular high-level terrorists, who have already been responsible for many major acts of terrorism and thousands of deaths.
Sgt. Bergdahl made his anti-American views known while in uniform. There is evidence that he was not captured, that he deserted. This is just another example of Mr. Obama’s apparent disdain for America and our safety and security. It should now be obvious that he lies eloquently on many topics.
