Make no mistake about it, said Rep. Louie Gohmert, speaking of the thousands of children who were pouring across America’s borders illegally. It’s an “invasion,” pure and simple, he said.

Mr. Gohmert made the assessment on “The Glenn Beck Program” on the heels of a trip to McAllen, Texas, where one border patrol facility has far exceeded its population limits by serving as a shelter for up to 1,200 people, he said.

“As one border patrolman said, ’I would be livid, I would be ballistic, if my child were in this situation,’ ” Mr. Gohmert said, The Blaze reported. “But the border patrol’s hands are tied because the law says Health and Human Services has to take them, and they’re not picking them up.”

Mr. Gohmert said border patrol officers’ hands were completely tied over the fate of the tens of thousands of children who’ve crossed in recent weeks.

“We are under invasion, and this president will not protect our country, and he will not step in and enforce the law as it is,” Mr. Gohmert said on the broadcast. “There should not be any new immigration bill until the president enforces the law, and our Department of Injustice begins to be a Department of Justice.”
