Aboard Air Force One, President Obama and top White House officials watched the U.S. World Cup team lose to Germany 1-0 on Thursday afternoon.

En route to Minneapolis for a town-hall meeting, Mr. Obama, White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer, White House press secretary Josh Earnest and others watched as the U.S. team lost the game but still advanced to the next round of play.

Despite the loss, the U.S. held on to second place in its group when Portugal defeated Ghana.
