The leading chief executive and co-founder of one of Albania’s largest private banks was gunned down right by his office in the capital city of Tirana.
Banka Credins CEO Artan Santo, 58, was shot and killed as he was entering his place of work, police spokeswoman Alma Katragjini said in The Associated Press.
Witnesses said two men rode up to Santo on a motorbike and engaged him in a brief chat at the entrance of the bank. They then shot him six times, including once to the head, and drove away, AP said.
Police aren’t sure about the motive.
Santo was CEO for the past 11 years.
