Radio host Rush Limbaugh made a prediction about the Washington Redskins controversy in January that has come true. He said that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office would be used by the Obama administration to coerce the franchise into changing its name.
A panel of judges with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday canceled the organization’s trademarks.
“We decide, based on the evidence properly before us, that these registrations must be canceled because they were disparaging to Native Americans at the respective times they were registered,” the judges wrote in an 81-page ruling.
On January 9, Rush Limbaugh said the following: “The way the feds are gonna get the Redskins is the federal trademark office, and I was gonna spend some time on that today, and there’s one other thing … I gotta take a break here. But it just leaves a whole bunch of great stuff for tomorrow.”

On Wednesday, Mr. Limbaugh reminded listeners of his earlier forecast saying, “I just want you to know and I want it on the record that we predicted this very thing back on January 9th, 2014, the Blaze reported Friday.

“This is not the Patent and Trademark Office, this is Barack Obama,” the radio host continued, the Blaze reported. “One of the things in reporting out of Washington that has happened during this administration, this is the executive branch, all of this stuff is coming out of the executive branch, all of this, well, tyranny, it’s all coming from the executive branch, and Obama owns the executive branch. He is the executive branch.”
