Russia’s Defense Ministry announced its days-long military exercises will include the launch of high-precision missiles.
The plan comes as violence in eastern Ukraine is continuing.
Ministry officials released a statement on Monday saying the war games — tapping the Western Military District — will run through Thursday and include deployments of Iskander surface-to-surface missiles, The Associated Press reported. The missiles have technological ability to strike targets that are nearly 174 miles away.
The ministry also announced that the war games are going to involve long-range bombers firing cruise missiles at various land targets, AP said. Russian officials wouldn’t disclose where these maneuvers would take place.
