A family values group is pressing for Americans to boycott the latest U.S. Postal Service stamp featuring the smiling face of slain gay rights activist Harvey Milk.

American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer said Americans should not only refuse to buy the stamp, they should also refuse to accept any mail that bears the stamp.

“Refuse to accept the Harvey Milk stamp if offered by your local post office,” the group advised in a press release. “Refuse to accept mail at your home or business if it is postmarked with the Harvey Milk stamp. Simply write ’Return to Sender’ on the envelope and tell your postman you won’t accept it.”

Mr. Milk, one of the first openly gay politicians in the nation, was killed in 1978 shortly after he won a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
