Sen. John McCain, the 2008 GOP presidential nominee, is headed to Mississippi to campaign Sunday with Sen. Thad Cochran.
Mr. Cochran is fighting for his political life in a run-off race against state Sen. Chris McDaniel, who has the support of anti-establishment and tea party groups.
The winner of the June 24 contest with face Travis Childers, a Democrat, in the November election.
In 2008, Mr. Cochran said that thought of Mr. McCain being president “sends a cold chill down my spine.”
