The very essence of our prosperity and its resultant liberty has been the product of our free-market economy. Yet, most Americans do not understand how this works.

One very simple example is the National Basketball Association. Players who have talent (but more importantly the willingness to work the hardest) make it to the NBA, regardless of sexual orientation, religion or color. There are no “victim classes” in the NBA. The result is the investors (team owners) make money, and the consumer (fans) gets the best product (watching the best players) at a price they are willing to pay. It’s a classic example of the free market. Everybody wins.

By the way, it also generates equal opportunity. The overwhelming majority of players in the NBA just happen to be black.
