Actor Richard Dreyfuss’ wife, Svetlana, was reportedly arrested and charged for driving under the influence after she smashed her car into a wooden fence, severed a high-pressure water line and fled the scene, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

San Diego County Sheriff deputies arrested her a short distance from the scene and booked her for DUI and hit-and-run, the New York Daily News reported.

The incident reportedly occurred June 2 in Encinitas, California, but only leaked to the press just recently.

Mrs. Dreyfuss has claimed she passed field sobriety tests and that she only had one glass of wine.

Her husband, age 66, has been sober since 1982, but prior to that, he had at least one high-profile run-in with the law when he smashed his car into a tree while under the influence of cocaine, the New York Daily News reported.
