Three children were injured at a parade in Utah on Saturday when a cannon set off by a Civil War reenactment group caused a fiery explosion.

The children were injured while attending the Orem Summerfest Parade, in Orem, when a Civil War reenactment group fired a cannon, ABC News reported.

A spark from the cannon landed on a pouch containing additional explosive charges, which ignited and caused a fiery blast, said Orem police Lt. Josh Adams.

At least two of the children appeared to be engulfed in the flames, police said, and bystanders helped rip off the children’s clothes and douse them in water, ABC reported.

Three children were reportedly transported to the hospital where they are in stable condition.
