A 911 dispatcher in Columbus, Ohio, will not be reprimanded after evidence of her telling a caller who said she was raped to “quit crying” surfaced Sunday.

“Ma’am, you’re going to have to quit crying so I can get the information from you,” the dispatcher told the caller Sunday, ABC News reported.

The woman told the dispatcher that the crime occurred at Ohio State University while she was staying at a friend’s house. She said the intruder probably came in through the back door, and that a “small white male with a white shirt” held a gun to her head while forcing her to perform sex acts.

“Don’t you understand how horrified I am? I am a 20-year-old from Upper Arlington. I don’t know what you deal with every day, but the kind of sympathy you have is zero,” the woman told the dispatcher, ABC reported.

Police eventually found and charged Michael Callaghan, 30, with rape and burglary for the attack.

A 911 supervisor told a local ABC affiliate that the dispatcher could have handled the call better and will review the call, but will not be given remedial training because the suspect was caught.
